Opened in 1973, Bul-Go-Gi House was the first restaurant with Korean cuisine in Edmonton. It was opened by The Park Family, which also owns the Bonnie Doon restaurant. The restaurant is known as the top Korean restaurants in the Bonnie Doon neighbourhood. Many believe it's the best Korean restaurant in all of Edmonton.

They have built a very loyal clientele and provide many top favourites on the menu. With some of the best Korean food in the city, it's not hard to understand how they built such a following.

The Menu

The food at Bul-Go-Gi House is authentic Korean cuisine. The portions are large and work great for sharing. Some of the favourites on the menu include:

They also provide combination dinners for four to five, six, eight and twenty. The eight and twenty person special combos provide ten full courses for eight and twelve full courses for twenty.

Lunch Specials

Available until 2:30pm during the week and 3:30pm on Saturdays, Bul-Go-Gi House offers a few specific specials for lunch including:

  • Gal-bee Special
  • Dweh-ji-bul-go-gi Special
  • Chicken Special

All fours are served with stir-fried vegetables, rice, wonton and BBQ chicken.

History of Bul-Go-Gi

Bulgogi was originated during the Goguryeo era and originally called maekjeok. This is a dish with beef grilled on a skewer. It’s made from think sliced beef, which is marinated in soy, sesame oil, garlic, sugar and other ingredients. The marinating process helps to give the beef great flavour and tenderness.

Location and Hours

Bul-Go-Gi House is found at 8813 92 Street Northwest in Edmonton. They are open from 11am to 9:30pm, Monday through Friday and from 11:30am to 9:30pm on Saturdays and Holidays. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
