Crawford Plains Edmonton Real Estate

Generally considered to be one of the most close-knit communities in the city, this neighborhood was named after a man named Neil Crawford, who served on the City Council, and was a member of the Edmonton Historical Board. Crawford Plains is a part of both the Southwood Community, and Mill Woods, which is comprised of twenty-seven other neighborhoods in total.

A bit newer in comparison to other neighborhoods located within Edmonton, residential development didn’t really get going in Crawford Plains until the 1960s, wherein the first 35 homes were constructed. However, the majority of its urbanization took place from 1971 to 1985, before later decreasing in the decades to follow as the area neared developmental completion.

Residents of this neighborhood enjoy easy access to numerous business establishments in the Crawford Plains Shopping Centre. Moreover, there’s an educational institution located within the neighborhood’s compound; Crawford Plains School, which is operated by the Edmonton Public School System.

Encompassed by Mill Woods Road and 16 Avenue to the north, 50 Street to the west, 34 Street to the east, and Anthony Henday Drive to the south, this neighborhood is situated within close proximity of various commercial establishments, including convenience stores and other small businesses that provide the basic necessities for the area’s residents.

For those who want bigger and better options for shopping and entertainment, there are several malls nearby, including Mill Woods Town Centre, located 2.5kms away, and the South Edmonton Common, which provides a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities and is located just 5.1kms away.
