Construction has been fairly rapid in the last decade, although the majority of homes here were built after 2005. There are approximately 500 residences in the neighbourhood today, the vast majority of these being single family dwellings. Indeed, these are estimated to account for roughly 95% of all residences in Brintnell. The remainder of homes that are not single family dwellings are made up of duplexes, triplexes, and quadruplexes.
Development in Brintnell is still ongoing – the centre of the neighbourhood has been earmarked for the construction of commercial and mixed-use properties, although at the time of writing development has yet to begin on these properties. Eventually, authorities plan to build a community centre and a number of shops in this part of the neighbourhood. In addition, the extreme north of the neighbourhood is also undeveloped, with further residential homes planned for this area.
Brintnell Neighbourhood Amenities
There are few recreational facilities in Brintnell, other than a small park and lake in the South East of the neighbourhood. However residents do not have to travel too far for this, as there are large parks located in the neighboring communities of Hollick-Kenyon to the west, and Miller to the south. In addition, there are no shops located in Brintnell. Instead, residents of the neighbourhood are forced to do their shopping in Cy Becker to the north, where there is a large Sobeys supermarket that can provide all of their immediate essentials. The newest educational institution is the Dr Donald Massey Elementary Junior High School, which is conveniently located nearby in Hollick-Kenyon.
