Laurel Real Estate Market

The neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP) of Laurel was designed to respond to the anticipated and current market demand across the Edmonton region. The plan has been guided by the statutory plans and policies of the city. Overall, Laurel NSP is an integration of mixed land uses developing in an organized and comprehensive manner to facilitate a sustainable, diverse, and vibrant residential community where residents can live, work, learn, and play at the same time.

Up to 170 hectares of Laurel is designated as residential land. Of that area, about 140 hectares will be allotted for low density residential that will facilitate development of semi-detached and single detached housing units. The rest will be designated for medium density residential area, which will be developed eventually for street-oriented row housing units.

Laurel Community Amenities

About 24 hectares are planned to be used for open spaces and parks, giving way to recreational activities. In the NSP, there will be community park sites, several pocket parks, and an urban village park.

The transportation network is another important consideration. The Laurel NSP is apparently based on a pedestrian and vehicular circulation. A roadway road network will meet both external and internal flow of traffic. There will also be truck routes, walkways, greenways, and utility corridors.

Laurel School Information

There will still be room for about two schools that will cater to children of families in the neighbourhood and in surrounding communities.
