Northeast Edmonton Real Estate Market

The Northeast Edmonton housing market can be further subdivided into community zones, which were created following the amalgamation new territories into the city. The biggest being the former Town of Beverly, now simply known as Beverly, which includes single family homes for sale in neighborhoods such as Abbottsfield, Beacon Heights, Bergman, Beverly Heights, and Rundle Heights.

Northeast Edmonton Community History

The majority of neighbourhoods in Northeast Edmonton were originally located within what used to be the Town of Beverly, before it was amalgamated with the City of Edmonton December of 1961. Living in the Town of Beverly was based on the coal mining industry, which the majority of its residents were involved in.

Northeast Edmonton Neighborhoods

Other residential zones include communities such as Casselman Steele Heights, which came into being in 1972 following the adoption of the Casselman-Steele Heights District Outline Plan, which outlined development in the area. Neighbourhoods with homes on the market within this zone include Casselman, Peppers, McLeod, Miller and York.

Clareview is another of the large community in North East Edmonton, also established in 1972 following the adoption of the Clareview Outline Plan. Neighborhoods showing to have houses for sale include Bannerman, Belmont, Claireview Town Centre, Fraser, Hairsine, Kernohan, darkness and Sifton Park

Another of the large residential zones is the Lake District, which contains nine neighborhoods of highly desirable real estate, bounded to the north and south by Anthony Henday Drive and 153 Avenue, and to the east and west by 66th Street and 97 Street. The Lake District came into being in 1979, following the adoption of the city’s Edmonton North Area Structure Plan.

And a few other notable residential zones that buyers touring the area should consider include Dickinsfield, Hermitage, Londonderry, and Pilot Sound. There are also a number of smaller neighborhoods in North East Edmonton that do not belong to any larger zones, including Balwin, Bellevue, Belvedere, Cromdale, Evergreen, Glengarry, Kilarney, Newton and Virginia Park.
