Rideau Park Real Estate Market

The majority of the construction was done during the 1970s although there was another large development in the 1990s. The area is divided into residential, commercial and institutional spaces. Residential makes up the most of the area at just over 66% and commercial and institutional areas make up the remaining percent. Apartments make up the majority of all residential buildings at 54% and apartment style condominiums make up 12%.

The remaining houses are single family homes as well as a very small number of duplexes. The majority of residences are rental property making up 54% of all residential buildings while 44% are occupied by the owners. There are approximately 1800 residents.

Rideau Park Community Amenities

The other surrounding communities include Empire Park to the north, Calgary Trail to the east and Royal Gardens to the west. The street boundaries are 111 Street to the west, Calgary Trail to the east, 40 Avenue to the south and Whitemud Drive to the north. Calgary Trail offers access to the south such as the Edmonton International Airport while Whitemud Drive provides access to the West Edmonton Mall. 111 Street leads to downtown, the University of Alberta and Southgate Centre.

Rideau Park School Information

There are two schools, Rideau Park Elementary School and D.S. Mackenzie Junior High School, in the area as well as several shopping centers. The neighbourhood's schools and parks are located in the center of the community and also provide service to the residents of Duggan, a neighbourhood located to the south.
