Stony Plain Real Estate Market

The community of Stony Plain is both affordable and in demand. Individuals looking to buy a home here are likely to find a few listed for sale at any given time.

As of September of 2018, the community’s average house price is over $362,000. Over the previous month, this is a significant 20 percent gain. Over the year, it is also significant at 11 percent. Stony Plain Community Amenities

Though much of Stony Plain is agricultural, and its economy is based in this sector, it is a welcoming and warm place to buy a home. Perhaps most noticeable and unique are the number of bright murals located throughout the city. Many of them paint the picture of the area’s history. The area is also home to a number of cultural events and locations. This includes the Multicultural Heritage Centre. The area is home to the Great White North Triathlon, which takes place in July each year.

Stony Plain Local Highlights

  • The city owns and operates the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre sports complex. It is located in and jointly managed by the Spruce Grove.
  • Residents will enjoy a fantastic park-like place to call home here. There are three large parks in the community. This includes Rotary Park, Whispering Waters, and Shikaoi.
  • The city is known as the “Town with the Painted Past.” This name comes from the numerous painted murals found throughout the community.

Residents living in Stony Plain generally attend Parkland School District. There are five schools located within Stony Plain that are a part of this district. A few private schools exist here as well.
