Northwest Edmonton Real Estate Market
As one of the three main residential zones in North West Edmonton, The Palisades housing market, which is bounded by Anthony Henday Drive to the North, 127 Street to the East, 137 Avenue to the South, and 142 Street to the West is a great place for potential buyers to tour. The following desirable neighbourhoods can be found in The Palisades: Albania, Carlton, Cumberland, Hudson, Oxford and Pembina.
Aside from these main residential real estate markets, North West Edmonton also incorporates a number of smaller neighbourhoods with homes for sale. The majority of these communities are significantly older than the newer developments listed above. Buyers will be pleased to notice that these older properties have been very well maintained to include modern upgrades. These smaller neighbourhoods include: Athlone, Dunvegan, Calder, Dovercourt, Goodridge Corners, Griesbach, Inglewood, Kensington, Lauderdale, Prince Charles, Rosslyn, Sherbrooke Wellington and Woodcroft.
Essentially, the community is made up of three larger residential areas, together with a number of small neighbourhoods that are not officially part of any major development plan. The largest of these housing markets is known as Big Lake, which is bounded to the north by the Lake of the same name, and to the south by Yellowhead Trail. Ray Gibbon Drive, and Anthony Henday Drive, mark the area’s Eastern and Western boundaries. The Big Lake area includes the cities of St. Albert and Parkland County, and three of the largest neighbourhoods with homes for sale in North West Edmonton; Hawks Ridge, Starling and Trumpeter.
The Castle Downs residential zone encompasses a large portion of North West Edmonton, and is bounded to the North by the Transportation and Utility Corridor, to the East by 97 Street, to the South by 137 Avenue, and to the West by 127 Street. Castle Downs is most famous for being the former location of the Edmonton International Speedway, although this has since been disbanded. Prominent neighbourhoods in the Castle Downs area include Baranow, Baturyn, Beaumaris, Caernarvon, Canossa, Carlisle, Chambery, Dunluce, Elsinore, Lorelei, and Rapperswill.
