Sakaw Real Estate Market
Single-family homes are the most common type of residential buildings in this real estate market, accounting for 70% of all residences. Row houses make up 16%, duplexes make up 8% and apartments make up the remaining 5%. About 75% of all residential buildings in the neighbourhood are occupied by the owner while 25% are rental property. The neighbourhood has several large roads including Anthony Henday Drive, which provides easy access to shopping facilities such as the Millhurst Shopping Centre and Mill Woods Town Centre.
Most of the development of this neighbourhood occurred during 1970s. The boundaries of the neighbourhood are Anthony Henday Drive to the south, 66 Street to the west, Mill Woods South Road to the north and 50 Street to the east. The surrounding neighbourhoods include Menisa to the west, Crawford Plains to the east, Meyokumin to the north and Anthony Henday Drive to the south. This community has approximately 4200 residents.
Sakaw Community Amenities
There is a large public park located in the center of the neighbourhood where outdoor enthusiasts and children can enjoy recreational activities. Interior roads are curvy and often end in cul-de-sacs, which help keep the main traffic on the main roads and away from the residential areas. Pathways are placed strategically throughout the area to promote safe pedestrian and bicycle travel.
Sakaw School Information
Sakaw Elementary School is the only school in the neighbourhood and it is a public school.
