What to do in the Summer in Edmonton?

Alberta Beach
Developed at a vacation spot, this beach provides plenty of fun for everybody. It's a popular choice for company picnics and residents gain easy access from the train. It's found west of Edmonton on the shores of Lac Ste. Anne. This is a tourist destination and the popular surges over the weekends and holidays throughout the summer.
This beach is perfect for families with shallow water and provides plenty of great water activities. You can build a sand castle, launch your boat, enjoy water skiing, fishing, sightseeing and so much more.
Dine at a Food Truck
They are a bit harder to find during the winter, but with the summer, the food trucks make their return to Edmonton. You will find them downtown, at events and all over the area. Some of the best food trucks make their way to the city and they are well worth your time and money.
Take in the Taste of Edmonton
As the largest food festival in the Western Canada area, you won't want to miss the Taste of Edmonton this summer. It will feature plenty of the best restaurants in the area and all types of beverages, as well.
Miquelon Lake
Found about an hour to the southeast of Edmonton, this lake provides plenty of fun. The beach is perfect for playing in the sand and you can swim in the water here. You can't use a powerboat, but sail boats, canoes, and kayaks are welcome.
Head to Northlands Park
If you love a little gambling fun, Northland Park is the place for you. They provide plenty of races for your gambling fun and you can place as little as a $1 bet.
Head to a Patio
Edmonton becomes alive with patio activity at some of the top restaurants during the summer. One of the best is found at the Courtyard by Marriott downtown and you can perch on a patio with a drink in hand at many other places throughout the city.
Picnic with the Family
Devonian Botanical Gardens and Hawrelak Park are two of the many great spots for a picnic. You can enjoy the beauty and quiet of the park or garden as you dine on your own creations outside.

Pigeon Lake
A southwest destination just 60 kilometres from Edmonton, Pigeon Lake is found as a part of MA-Me-O Beach Provincial Park. Powerboats, windsurfing, sailing and fishing are all welcome here with plenty of northern pike, walleye and yellow perch.
