Terrace Heights Real Estate Market

Half of the neighbourhood is made up of single-detached dwellings, while the other half is made up of apartments. In addition, a minority of residents live in duplexes.

It took forty years before construction actually began, when the northern portion of 101 Avenue was developed. This was followed by the southern portion of the same avenue being developed in 1959.During this period of development, more than 80% of the neighbourhood's land area was transformed into residential units, with additional homes going up in the 1970s and 1980s. Renovations and other improvements occurred from 1980s to 2000s.

The name of the neighbourhood was taken from a smaller subdivision of the same name that had actually existed since 1912 – today, this subdivision is located in the northern part of the present day Terrace Heights neighbourhood. When the city of Edmonton began redeveloping the area in the 1950s, the neighbourhood officially adopted the name as its own.

Terrace Heights Community Amenities

Nowadays, residents will notice there are two distinct faces of the Terrace Heights neighbourhood. The first is the low-density portion of the community, which is notable for its green spaces; alongside this, the high-density portion is choc-a-block with high-density residential units and commercial establishments.

Terrace Heights is a very desirable neighbourhood thanks to its wide range of affordable homes, rentals and the easy access it offers to su ch venues as the Capilano Shopping Center, which is just outside the neighbourhood's southeastern boundary. Driving north through the Capilano Bridge, residents will be able to reach the Edmonton's Central Park and the natural amenities it provides.
