Valentine's Day will soon be here, and for many, this means a night on the town is in order. There's plenty to do and see in and around Edmonton on Valentine's Day, and it may be hard to find the ideal event. Here are four events taking place Valentine's Day weekend, whether you're looking for a party, a date, or a creative outlet.
Valentine's Paint Night
Date: February 13 at 6 p.m.
Unleash your artistic side this Valentine's Day at Valentine's Paint Night. In this class taught by the Art Gallery's talented painting instructor Carmella Haykowsky, participants will get together and learn to paint a dramatic floral still life. All the materials you need will be provided by the event: paints, canvases, and even wine to drink. Participants who arrive before 5:45 can join in on a guided tour of the gallery's current exhibition. Make it a hands-on date night, or invite your friends for a night out together.
Sweet Nothings: Dessert Buffet and Live Music Performance
Date: February 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy a decadent Valentine's night at the Sweet Nothings Dessert Buffet. A delicious buffet will be prepared by Silk and Slate Catering. As you partake in your food, live entertainment will be provided by Viva Dance Company, with music by Asim Chin. The show starts at 7:30 to give you time to fill your plate with dessert first. Apéritif and digestif alcohols come with the purchase of your ticket, and more drinks are available for purchase as well.
Be My Valentine Bash: Edmonton Speed Dating
Date: February 14 at 8 p.m.
Be My Valentine Bash is a speed dating event for those who want a relaxed way to connect with a new date. Participants will meet at the Rooster Kitchen & Bar, and they can have a drink and mingle after they've arrived. Once the event begins, participants will have the chance to speak to each other in rotation to decide who they would like to get to know more about. It's a casual event where participants can be themselves, with no pressure or expectations beyond finding someone they connect with.
SEESA Valentine's Dinner & Dance
Date: February 15 at 5 p.m.
For a low-key and fun event after Valentine's Day, the South East Edmonton Seniors Association is hosting a Valentine's Dinner & Dance. The night starts with cocktails, with a cash bar available if you need more to drink later. Dinner and, of course, dancing will also be offered after the event has started. Music at the event will be performed by Edmonton's very own The Romantics. Purchase your tickets over the phone, in person at SEESA, or over Eventbrite.
No matter what you decide to do, Valentine's Day in the Edmonton area is sure to be fun. Whether you're looking for love or just for fun, one of these events could be just what you need for a memorable night.
