The name of the neighbourhood was Wolf Willow Farms before any developments began. By the year 1972, it was changed to Oleskiw, the neighbourhood was named after the famous Dr. Oleskiw. He is an intellectual who played a major role in helping most of the Ukrainian immigrants to settle in the area of Edmonton.
