Quesnell Heights Homes For Sale - West Edmonton

Welcome to your best Quesnell Heights neighbourhood West Edmonton real estate resource. The history of Quesnell Heights is a little hazy. For instance, no one can definitively tell how the neighbourhood got its name. Some believe that the place is named after J.B. Quesnell, a well-known citizen in the late 1800s. There are also others who think that the neighbourhood was named after Dr. Philip Quesnell, a prominent physician who came to Edmonton in 1912. Quesnell Heights Real Estate Market

In spite of its somewhat murky past, Quesnell Heights has emerged as a thriving residential area today. It’s one of the smallest neighbourhoods in Edmonton. At twenty-one hectares, it contains no more than 120 homes, with a population fewer than 400 people.

Most, if not all of the dwellings in Quesnell Heights were built between 1961 and 1980. All of the homes are single-detached units. The neighbourhood is bounded by Whitemud Drive to the north and east, the Rio Terrace neighbourhood to the west, and the North Saskatchewan River to the south.

Quesnell Heights Community Amenities

The neighbourhood also has a centrally located one-hectare park for recreational purposes. Although Quesnell Heights could not boast of complete facilities due to its small size, there are several that can be found in nearby communities like Laurier Heights and Rio Terrace. Shopping centers such as the Meadowlark, West Edmonton, and Southgate shopping malls are only a few minutes away. Residents are also able to enjoy easy access to the University Hospital and the University of Alberta by way of Fox Drive.

Certain tourist attractions are also easily accessible from Quesnell Heights. The North Saskatchewan River Valley, for example, can be reached through Whitemud Drive. The popular Fort Edmonton Park is also just a ten-minute drive away across the river.
