Best Coffeehouse in EdmontonThere are so many great coffee shops here in Edmonton that it's difficult to even narrow them all down to one list. Since it would take a while to talk about every single local coffeehouse in town, we decided to highlight the variety of coffee shops we have here: the cozy, the quirky, and the cat-crowded. To make your coffee shop search easier, here are our top 4 coffee shops in Edmonton so you can find the perfect one for you.

The WoodRack Café

Address: The WoodRack Café, 10335 83 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 2C6, Canada

The WoodRack Café is a warm, cozy coffee shop perfect for working, studying, or homework. Their café is designed in a cute "boho-chic" and has open, well-lit spaces as well as cozy corners if you need to concentrate. They just opened a second location at the airport, so you can also grab a warm taste of Edmonton before heading out on your travels. In warmer weather (or if you can brave the cold during the winter for s'mores and ice sculptures), they have a backyard with mismatched patio sets so you can soak in the summer outdoors.

Coffee Bureau

Address: Coffee Bureau, 10505 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB T5J 1Z4, Canada

The Coffee Bureau is located in the heart of downtown Edmonton. Their motto is "Coffee always gives you a break," and with good reason! Coffee Bureau has delicious coffee and lattes that don't make you need to grab the sugar, and the simple coffee bar design of the shop isn't overwhelming or cluttered. They also offer incredibly Instagrammable latte art and a small selection of pastries and baked goods, so you may need to take a longer break than expected to snap the perfect pictures.

Dirtbag Café

Address: Dirtbag Café, 10505 107 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 2Y5, Canada

If you're looking for a little more adventure and pizzazz in your café, Dirtbag Café may be the place for you. They offer great-tasting coffee during the day and by night turn into a bar with a focus on craft beer. They're located right by a climbing gym, have an open mic every Monday, and have a full beer fridge to help get the party started. They have great food options while you sip, including a bakery and a full menu with all-day breakfast and casual dining like sandwich and salads.

Cat Café on Whyte

Address: Cat Café on Whyte, 10111 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 1Z5, Canada

Alberta's first cat café offers specialty drinks from ACE roasters located just a few blocks away at Cat Café on Whyte. They also have a full selection of teas, and all drinks are cat-themed. You can hang out with the kitties while you enjoy an afternoon coffee, or get to know the cats while you're looking to adopt. It should be noted that although this café has a very homey, comfortable feel, it may not be the best place to concentrate if you are easily distracted by cute cats. Cat Café on Whyte is partnered with the SAFE team, a local Edmonton rescue, to adopt rescue cats (or if you're not looking to adopt, keeping them company and giving them a little love).

The best thing about coffee shops is that you don't have to choose one and stick with it for life. You may feel like Cat Café one day, the cozy corner in WoodRack another day, or be looking for locally roasted bags of coffee to brew in the comfort of your own kitchen. These are just a few of the great local coffee shops that Edmonton has to offer, and there really is a coffeehouse for every day of the week.
