Spring is blossoming, which means winter blues and hiding from the cold indoors are soon to be things of the past. To celebrate the oncoming warmth and sunshine, why not find something fun and exciting to do? Here are five must-see March events in the city of Edmonton to add to your calendar.
Edmonton Craft Beer Festival
For beer enthusiasts, the Edmonton Craft Beer Festival is the March event, featuring over 100 craft breweries and over 500 individual beers. While beer is undoubtedly the show's star, it's hardly the only one. Enjoy everything from wine, cider, spirits, and even mead alongside craft brews. There will also be plenty of food to sample at the festival, ranging from crepes and barbecue to Indian and Thai.
Single-day and weekend passes are available for general admission and VIP options. VIP perks include early admission, private washrooms and entrances, access to the VIP lounge, a lanyard, and free admission to each beer seminar. Meanwhile, general admission tickets include a commemorative sample mug, while packages include $40 in sample tokens and an after party ticket. This year, the headliners for the after parties are Tyler Braden (Friday) and Sam Feldt (Saturday).

Musicals: TINA & A Midsummer Night's Dream
If a musical is what you're looking for, you have a couple of great options this month! Broadway Across Canada is bringing TINA — The Tina Turner Musical to Edmonton, while The Citadel Theatre is performing A MIdsummer Night's Dream: The '70s Musical.
TINA tells the story of the iconic Tina Turner and features a soundtrack full of her most popular songs. The show runs for about two hours and 40 minutes and is recommended for ages 14+.
For those looking for a mix of a classic story and "groovy vibes," A Midsummer Night's Dream: The '70s Musical may be just what you're looking for. The show runs for around two hours and 25 minutes and is recommended for those 8+.

Alberta Ballet in The Wizard of Oz
For one March weekend, you can experience Francesco Ventriglia's The Wizard of Oz. The show has its Canadian premiere in Calgary before heading to Edmonton.
Described as a combination of contemporary and classical ballet, it takes the audience through the familiar story of Dorothy and her friends. As the story progresses, so do the details of the visuals, making for an unforgettable experience.

Alberta Spirits & Cocktail Festival
Advertised as "Alberta's Largest Cocktail Party," the Alberta Spirits & Cocktail Festival offers live music alongside dozens of spirits, cocktails, beer, and snacks. Plus, check out a flair bartending show! Be sure to stay late at an evening session for the after party, with the Derina Harvey Band performing Friday night and The Prairie States on Saturday night.
There are three sessions, with Friday and Saturday evening general admission going for $32 and Saturday afternoon general admission for $20. VIP passes cost $75 (Saturday afternoon) or $95 (Friday or Saturday evening) and include $40 in sampling tickets, exclusive beverages, a lanyard and welcome gift, and more.
