Alberta Ballet in Giselle

For one March weekend, you can experience the Alberta Ballet's much-anticipated rendition of Giselle. The performance, a story written in France in 1841, tells the riveting tale of Giselle herself. In this special performance, Alberta Ballet director Christopher Anderson debuts "a new interpretation of this masterpiece." It's simultaneously emotional and romantic, thrilling and even a bit dark — in other words, unforgettable. 

While this Edmonton event has a limited run, there are four opportunities to watch the show.

Edmonton Craft Beer Festival

For beer enthusiasts, the Edmonton Craft Beer Festival is the March event, featuring over 100 craft breweries and over 500 individual beers. While beer is undoubtedly the show's star, it's hardly the only one. Enjoy everything from wine, cider, spirits, and even mead alongside craft brews. 

There will also be plenty of food to sample at the festival, plus endless entertainment. Check out the DJ lounge or comedy festival, or sign up for a beer seminar, "Let's Meet for a Beer with a Master Brewer" or "Cooking With Beer." 

Single-day and weekend passes are available for general admission and VIP options. All general admission tickets include a commemorative sample mug, and VIP perks include early entry, a separate entrance, private bathrooms, and free admission to beer seminars.

JUNO Awards

This Edmonton event is a celebrity-studded, see-and-be-seen event celebrating the Canadian music recording industry. Expect a red carpet, nine unforgettable live performances sprinkled throughout the awards ceremony, and special events like this year's Hall of Fame inductions at The JUNOS.

The city comes alive for the week leading up to the event, so even if you're watching virtually, it's a wonderful time to be in downtown Edmonton. You'll find watch parties, special concerts, live performances, street festivals, and more.

First Date

Theatre fans, this Edmonton event is just for you! Broadway musical First Date comes to the Mayfield Dinner Theatre with performances six days per week through the end of March. Hilarious and relatable in today's modern dating world, First Date follows the first meeting of Aaron and Casey, potential romantic interests. 

Meals at the Mayfield Theatre are buffet-style, and the selections are expansive for brunch and dinner. The never-ending dessert bar is a highlight, and a full bar accompanies all the delicious options.
