Bergman Real Estate Market

Bergman housing market statistics: As of March 29, 2020 there are currently 5 properties for sale in Bergman listed as active, with an average asking price of $353,200. Bergman neighbourhood listings have an average price of $ per square foot, based on listings with 3.5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and 1,446 square feet of living space.

Bergman Community

Named in honor of Gustave C. Bergman (first mayor of the Beverly neighbourhood), Bergman was an undeveloped expanse of land until 1910 when coal seams brought miners and settlers into the town. From there, expansion seemed to happen overnight with housing and small country-style businesses popping up in preparation of the coal mining families that had yet to make their way to Bergman.

Known then as a village associated with the neighboring town of Beverly, Bergman reached a population of over 1,000 residents in 1914 due to the boom in the coal trade. Even when all the mines were closed in 1952, the land had grown into a smaller neighbourhood and boasted a population of 2,000 -- experiencing the same rises and failures as other areas in Beverly but maintaining a steady flow of community residents.

Bergman Neighbourhood Amenities

As of 2012, the population is still booming in this little neighbourhood; however, entertaining amenities are reserved for the outskirts of town. Rather than being over-run with large businesses and diners, Bergman is a mostly residential area -- reserved for families who long for a quieter environment and a peaceful atmosphere. The Bergman Park is home to occasional summer events and community activities, designed to add pep to the step of Bergman residents. Children will find the park especially amusing because of the numerous play areas and sandy creek shores.

The Yellowhead Trail is the main roadway to the north of Bergman -- it's for this reason that developers built a a barrier between the highway and the residential housing, so people wouldn't have to deal with the constant stream of traffic noises. The present grid of Bergman consists of two other roads that lead to the south and NW -- directly into the downtown areas outside of Bergman and onto the Yellowhead Trail.
