Evergreen Community

Evergreen is a flourishing neighbourhood with more than one thousand residents. Many of the houses are owner occupied, only a few people rent. The internal road system is a customized grid with several cul-de-sacs, ensuring that the area has minimal traffic problems. The northeastern section of this community is bordered by a natural creek, which makes up a portion of the Horse Hills. The Horse Hills is a ravine system that flows to the North Saskatchewan Valley River. This offers residents an attractive natural open area. A pipeline strip that flows diagonally through the neighbourhood provides a linear shaped park with paths throughout Evergreen.

Evergreen Neighbourhood Amenities

The Evergreen community offers an active community hall facility and community league providing recreational activities for residents. Although there is a small commercial space situated in the southwestern part of the neighbourhood, there are currently no major commercial structures in the nearby area. The community is bounded by farms on each side and is very close to Edmonton’s market garden, which is located to the northeast of the neighbourhood.

Transport wise, there is a Canadian National rail line that operates northwest of Evergreen, which forms a visible boundary in the rural northeast section of the city of Edmonton.
