Overlanders Real Estate Market

Overlanders housing market statistics: As of April 24, 2019 there are currently 4 properties for sale in Overlanders listed as active, with an average asking price of $304,947. The highest-priced property is $368,900; the lowest priced property can be purchased for $167,888. Overlanders neighbourhood listings have an average price of $290 per square foot, based on listings with 4.0 bedrooms, 2.3 baths, and 1,047 square feet of living space.

Overlanders Community

The name Overlanders comes from a group of miners who journeyed through the Red River cart. They came from Fort Gary and travelled to the Cariboo gold fields. Some of the miners within the groups decided to abandon the journey and settled within the city of Edmonton by the year 1862. The name of the neighbourhood was chosen in order to commemorate the historical journey of the miners.

Most of the single-family units in the neighbourhood and some of the row houses were constructed during the end of 1970s. The majority of the row houses that you will find today, along with some apartments, were built during the 1980s. The remaining developments occurred in the beginning of 1990s. However, some homes are still being constructed today.

Today, more than half of the residential units within the neighbourhood are rented. Most of which are apartments for people that are part of the industrial workforce. The other half of the residential units is a combination of single-family houses, row houses, and duplexes.

Overlanders Neighbourhood Amenities

Similar to other neighbourhoods, the Overlanders neighbourhood has a lot of amenities to offer. With regards to education, the neighbourhood has the Overlanders Elementary School which is adjacent to a recreational site at the center of the town. Residents can also access the LRT system in the western part of Overlanders. The Hermitage Park is also nearby in the northeast part of Overlanders. A short drive south of the city will lead you to Rundle Park Golf Course. With its close proximity to the industrial part of Edmonton, people who want a short commute will surely enjoy their life in Overlanders.
