Blackburne Real Estate Market
The modern community of Blackburne extends from Blackmud Creek to 111 Street in the east. The southwest boundary of the neighbourhood borders Blackcreek Ravine. To the north is Anthony Henday Drive, while the busy, major thoroughfare of Calgary Trail is the neighbourhood's boundary to the east. To the south lies the Bearspaw neighbourhood and to the east, past Calgary Trail, lies the Richford neighbourhood.
Generally viewed as one of the most affluent areas of Edmonton, Blackburne is known for having predominantly single family dwellings, which account for around 70% of all residential buildings. Duplexes are also quite common here, making up 14% of all residential buildings, with row houses and apartment-style condos making up the remaining 16% of homes. The residential side streets are a series of loops and were designed to keep the main flow of traffic away from them and on the main streets.
Blackburne Community Amenities
More importantly perhaps, Blackburne is an area known for its outstanding natural beauty. There are several expansive public parks in the area that are very popular with outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers and children. Recreational activities here include walking and biking along the pathways, while there are also playing fields for those who want to play sport. In total, Blackburne is home to over 1,500 residents.
Blackburne School Information
Resident children attend the Edmonton Public School District and the Edmonton Catholic School District.
