About half the homes in Pleasantview are single-family detached homes and 20% of the buildings are apartments while row houses and duplexes make up the rest of the residential infrastructure. The homes were mainly built in the 1960’s with over half of them constructed at that time.
The town was named in 1914 after David Martin who was a pioneer in the area and was one of the original settlers in the area in the late 19th century. In 1950, the name was changed to Pleasantview due to the scenery that the land provided for its residents.

It is still considered to be a rural community but it is much more modern than some people might imagine due to the planning and development that has occurred over the years.
