The community is actually quite different from other neighbourhoods in Edmonton because it is distinguished by a high percentage of multi-family homes, with just 3% of the housing being single-detached structures. In addition, Edmonton International Airport can be easily accessed via Calgary Trail, while The University of Alberta can be accessed through 111 Street.

The neighbourhood is in a central location that enables residents to conveniently access various employment and commercial areas elsewhere in the city. Empire Park is situated close to the Southgate LRT Station, which provides transportation for residents.
