Brander Gardens Real Estate Market

Currently, the residential mix at Brander Gardens is pretty varied. Approximately one in three, or 36% of homes in the neighbourhood are apartment style condominiums. Single family dwellings are the next common, accounting for roughly 30% of all residences in the area. Duplexes are also fairly common, accounting for 24% of all homes. In addition, there is also a substantial number of row houses in the neighbourhood.

The population of Brander Gardens can be considered somewhat mobile. While half of the residents here have lived here for at least five years (according to the last census in 2005), approximately 35% had only lived in the area for three years or less.

The vast majority of residential construction in Brander Gardens was completed during the 1970s, at a time when Edmonton underwent a significant real estate boom that coincided with the growth of its oil industry. The neighbourhood was actually established in the 1960s, and so there are a few older properties around, although these are few and far between.

The geography of Brander Gardens that it directly overlooks Fort Edmonton Park in the valley below, offering stunning views for residents who choose to live here.

Brander Gardens Community Amenities

Amenity wise, residents in Brander Gardens have all their immediate needs taken care of. The West of the neighbourhood is given over to recreational parks and woodlands, and is very popular for walkers and those who like to exercise outdoors. There are a number of commercial properties, businesses and shops in the North East of the neighbourhood, while there are no less than four schools located here.

Brander Gardens School Information

The biggest two schools are Brander Gardens Elementary School, and Riverbend Junior High School, both of which are run by the Edmonton Public School System. Meanwhile, the smaller than Monica Catholic junior high school is run by the Catholic school system, while Tempo School is a privately run institution.
