These days, Greenfield remains largely residential. One will mostly find single detached houses, usually large and facing curvilinear streets. The name Greenfield is in honor of Herbert Greenfield—leader of the United Farmers Party and Premier of Alberta from 1921 to 1925.
Getting into Greenfield is quite easy. The neighbourhood is bounded by streets and avenues; 40 Avenue on the north, 34 Avenue on the south, 111 Street on the east, and 119 street on the west.
Most amenities are centrally located. Greenfield has its own shopping plaza—the Petrolia Shopping Centre. If locals can’t find what they need here, they can drive to the nearby Southgate Centre. The route along 111 Street is the best way to get there. The 111 Street also provides quick access to LRT stations at Southgate and Century Park.
With an organized road network and good public transit connections, Greenfield residents enjoy easy access to destinations on Edmonton’s south side.
